spicy tuna poke bowl! 🔥

remember the days of taking hours to decide what to get for lunch when we were at offices?! well me and @janellenicole would go get these delish poke bowls in midtown and decided to remake it with some twists! of course the tuna is from @shipwreckseafoodboutique also, alittle research is good! wherever you live, research some good fish markets in your area...you can find them!

Ingredients (makes 2 bowls)

-1/2 lb ahi tuna, cut into cubes (sushi grade..aka safe to eat raw)

-1 persian cucumber, thinly sliced

-1 jalapeño, thinly sliced

-1 tablespoon or so soy sauce

-a dash of mirin (sweet Japanese rice wine. you can find on amazon or your local grocery store)

-1 valencia orange, juiced

-a big heaping spoonful of chili flakes in oil (i loveeeee @flybyjing)

-avocado slices

-cilantro, for garnish

-spicy mayo: a big spoonful of mayo & a spoonful of chili paste like sambal (your local grocery store)

-rice for serving

-seaweed rice seasoning for garnish (if you can find!)

Directions

-combine the the tuna, soy sauce, mirin and freshly squeezed orange juice and let the tuna marinate for 5 minutes. nothing more because you don’t want the acid from the orange to cook the tuna but just flavor it!

-spread some rice over your plate, spoon a big ole amount of tuna with the ponzu sauce on top and garnish with all the toppings to your belly’s desire!
