The pandemic extremely stressed me out last year. Between balancing my day job and the sad & exhausting news everyday, it really got to me. Cooking is what really brought me peace but my body was all out of whack. My skin was breaking out like crazy and I was slacking on taking my daily vitamins. The stress really took a toll on my body.

I’m a full on early riser, I love waking up early before the New York hustle and bustle starts. My morning routine is by far the favorite part of my day. This is my time where I  journal, have my coffee and set the tone for the day. I  may answer a couple of emails but for the most part, it’s me time.

Full transparency, the first thing that went into my body was my cup of morning coffee. Not even water lol. Yes, the smell of coffee is literally the best smell on earth but having it as the first sip in my body is not the best. My boyfriend suggested that instead of having coffee, to at least have a big glass of water with lemon and then he started making smoothies in the am so my gut would be nice & happy BEFORE my first sip of coffee!

I wanted to start adding daily supplements & I’ve been researching probiotic supplements to get my body & skin together. I actually came across Seed a while ago and was then connected with them. Seed is all about gut & whole body health. Their Daily Synbiotic is a pre-and-probiotic that has tons of benefits beyond just gut health—heart health, skin health, the list goes on. I’ve felt a difference in my regularity (if you know what I mean) and my skin is smoother. Adding the Daily Synbiotic into my morning routine has made such a big difference in how I feel for the rest of the day. You know how ‘they’ say everything starts within your gut, well it’s really true.

I’ve partnered with Seed to make a smoothie based in science to support gut health! Diversifying the number of fruit and veggies you consume (early in the day too is key) is one way to support whole body health and smoothies incorporate macro & micronutrients!

Below is my recipe but try adding what feels good to you!

  • ½ inch knob of fresh ginger

  • 1 banana

  • ¼ cup oats

  • 3 dates

  • 1 cup, strawberries, blueberries, raspberries (frozen)—Berries are rich polyphenols (aka antioxidants!)

If you’re interested in learning more or trying the Daily Synbiotic use code HOTSAUCE for 15% off your first month’s supply.

Happy Gut Health!
